Built by people who lived the problem
Finance & Accounting background · 10+ years in IT
Why we built this
We spent years working alongside accounting firms and watching the same painful cycle play out every tax season: send an email asking for documents, wait days for a reply, follow up, get half the files in the wrong format, then start over. The actual work was never the problem – it was the endless back-and-forth of getting the right files from the right people.
We tried everything. Shared folders that clients couldn't figure out. File request tools buried behind login screens. Email attachments bouncing off size limits. Nothing worked well enough, so we built FileChute – the tool we wished existed.
The idea is dead simple
You create a request with a checklist of what you need. You share a link. Your client clicks it, uploads their files – no account, no app, no password. You get notified when files arrive, and automatic reminders chase what's still missing. That's it.
We built FileChute for accountants first because we understood their pain best, but the same problem exists everywhere – mortgage brokers waiting on pay stubs, lawyers chasing signed agreements, insurance agents needing proof of loss. Anyone who collects files from other people has dealt with this mess.
What we care about
- Security is non-negotiable. Your clients trust you with tax returns, financial records, and identity documents. Every file is encrypted in transit and at rest. Row-level security ensures strict data isolation. We don't cut corners here because this stuff actually matters.
- Clients should never be confused. The people uploading files are not tech-savvy power users. They're busy people who want to get it done and move on. No accounts, no setup, no friction.
- Your tools should save you time, not create work. Templates, automatic reminders, branded upload pages, activity logs, API access, integrations - everything you need to collect documents at scale without the overhead.
One product, done right
FileChute is a focused product company. We don't try to be a practice management suite, a CRM, or a general file storage tool. We do one thing – help professionals collect files from clients – and we want it to be the best tool for that job.
That focus means faster updates, direct support with no ticket queues, and a product shaped by real conversations with the firms that use it every day.
